Renovation of a Federation era semi-detached house on Sydney's lower north shore.
In design development.
A one-and-a-half height living and dining space at the rear of the house creates a sense of light and airiness on a site wedged between taller buildings. Tall sliding doors permit visual connectivity between the house and the garden, making flexible entertaining space for a young family.
One of a pair, the proposed upper storey of the house has been designed to match a first-floor extension in the adjoining house, so that the street elevation retains its symmetry. The new upper floor is designed to be visually discreet, preserving the modest yet decorative street presence of this beautifully-proportioned heritage dwelling.
